Loving what FL is all about e.i. sunshine, wearing dresses, & swimming everyday

It has been 2 weeks and 3 days since we arrived in FL and it is safe to say that the kids have adjusted well. Dax and the girls took to their rooms with no trouble despite "roughing it" for 4 days with a Pack'n Play and the Ladybug Tent to suffice as beds.

All of the boxes are unpacked and everything accounted for with nothing broken, which I find impressive. Unpacking when someone else has packed for you is a little like Christmas and it is funny how you forget about all the knick-knacks and clutter you have in just 6 days of not seeing it. I found myself saying quite frequently "what on earth could be in here" after unpacking multiple boxes for each of the rooms. While everything is unpacked, not everything has found its permanent home as we try to find the "flow" of the house here. When I first started the unpacking I felt I might be unwrapping for 3 weeks, but it took me just under a week. I was happy with that, especially since I was the lone unpacker as Aaron was traveling a good portion of the 1st week we were here.

We managed to start hanging a few things on the walls this weekend and Aaron has started to tackle the electrical nightmare. The previous owner fashioned himself as a handyman of sorts, but we have found that while he had good ideas and was great at starting a project, follow through and doing things the right way were not his strong suit. With the long 4th weekend coming up we will attempt to paint a few more rooms and then hopefully we can call it quits for awhile.

While unpacking, painting, and arranging/rearranging furniture is fun, we have managed to take some breaks for the kids to have some fun too. They all love the beach, the girls love the water and Dax loves the sand. Tradition town center has a fountain that all 3 of the kids like as well and of course we have been in the pool almost everyday. There have been a few thunderstorms roll through the area and on those days I want to pull my hair out! I get asked every 15 minutes when the rain and lightning will stop and if we can go swim. Needless to say they love having nearly unlimited access to a pool and think it is really something to go swimming at night! I will really love the pool when the girls can swim on their own and I just have Dax tote around. All three kids started ISR lessons last week and I am told that girls should be swimming the length of the pool by the end of our sixth week session. Mia is well on her way after just 1 week and Adelaide has come a long way considering she had to be talked into putting her face in the water!
